Hong Kong is a breathtaking city with its huge skyscrapers, traditions within modernity, diversity of landscape, food and people, the chaos and the way it is organised and managed. The city may totally fascinate you or overwhelm you. We spent two months in Hong Kong and in this post we’d like to share our first impressions.
Batu Caves is a cave complex in a limestone hill close to Malaysia’s capital city Kuala Lumpur. It is at the same time one of the most visited Hindu Shrines outside India.
We were only going to Sri Lanka for a transit, and before we got there, we did a little research. The half of people, whose comments we read, recommended to spend the transit in a touristic coastal village not far from the airport. The other half recommended to see the capital of the country. Whether it was good or bad, we decided for the second option.
We have been traveling quite a lot the past years. Using the experience, we gained, we wanted to create something useful and beautiful that other travellers can use without spending much money on it. Here is a collection of pocket size packing checklists that you can use for your next trip. It comes with different quotes on the cover. The only thing you need to do is to print out one page (copy shops are everywhere), to cut and to fold it. That’s it!
Béziers was the last place that we went to in Southern France and also in Europe. From there we had to catch a flight to continue our adventures in Asia. We booked a studio just for one night in the downtown and in the next morning we had a couple of hours to walk through this little, yet ancient, picturesque city.
Our next step is Montpellier or as we call it since then the little Paris of the South. Just like Toulouse, Montpellier is a student city with one third of population being students. However, unlike Toulouse, you can feel their presence very well here. When we first arrived in Montpellier, it was the evening and the downtown was full with joyful and laughing young men and women.
The Southern France trip continued in Toulouse where we wanted to visit a friend, and what we discovered was a very unique city with a long history. Toulouse is called the Pink City (fr.: La Ville Rose) due to the specific architecture. From the medieval times pinkish terracotta bricks were used for construction. Nowadays, the pinkish tones still dominate the city architecture and defines the overall appearance of the city.
Our next goal was Southern France where we wanted to visit a friend in Toulouse. We found a good connection to Toulouse, so that we first would fly to the city of Carcassonne and spend there 4 to 5 hours before taking a train to Toulouse. That gave us plenty of time to be amazed by the beauty of this medieval city.
In this post I would like to share my thoughts about having a harmonious relationship in different situations. Therefore, this post is divided into three sections depicting each of them: moving in together, working with your partner and travelling as a couple.
Paris and London are in a certain way special cities for us. Each of us went to one of them after graduating from the school with the goal of leaving the parents’ home and starting the own life.
After the colourful and contrastive impression of the first two days, we stayed in Paris for a whole month. We worked as a designer and developer couple at that time, therefore, we did need an apartment with a more or less good table, good internet connection and a kitchen.
It was a very beautiful day in Paris – shiny, warm, with a clear blue sky. We were excited about our trip and we woke up early.
